The death toll from the Saturday petrol tanker explosion has risen to 98, 69 injured and 20 shops burnt.
As of Sunday it was 86 dead and 55 injured. But the severity of the burns many of the victims have suffered may lead to more deaths.
Abdullahi Baba-Arah, Director General of Niger State Emergency Management Agency confirmed the figures in a statement on Monday.
He said more deaths were recorded among those in the hospital.
At General Hospital Suleja 7 out of 43 patients admitted have died while 3 out of 23 at General Hospital Sabon-Wuse also died. 10 critically injured from Suleja were transferred to Abuja specialist hospitals for further treatment. 3 patients at the same hospital were treated and discharged to go home.
Both state and federal government have taken over the medical bills of the injured.
Those referred to Abuja for intensive treatment will also get full support from Federal Government.
The explosion happened on Saturday morning when a fuel laden tanker speeding on the road crashed and spilled its content.
Some residents who were desperate rushed to collect the spilled fuel. Few minutes later the tanker exploded and a fire that wiped out dozens and left many seriously injured.
The dead have been buried in a mass grave, families and communities are mourning.
Condolences have poured in from across Nigeria and Federal Government has set up a committee to investigate the cause of the disaster to prevent future occurrence.
