As the Edo State governorship election holds on Saturday, September 21, 2024, the All Progressive Congress (APC) Caucus in the House of Representatives has donated N200 million to support the party’s governorship candidate, Monday Okpebholo and his running mate, Dennis Idahosa.
This was disclosed in a statement by Benjamin Kalu, Deputy Speaker of the House and Chairman APC Reps’ Fundraising Committee for Edo Governorship Election.
Okpebholo and Idahosa are both members of APC, Okpebholo represents Edo Central Senatorial District and Idahosa represents Ovia North East/Ovia South West Federal Constituency in the National Assembly.
Kalu said, “In solidarity and loyalty to the party, APC Reps Caucus has collectively donated N200 million to support the party’s campaign for the election on September 21. The donation was made by individual APC members from 10th House under the leadership of Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu.”
APC caucus assured of their total support for Senator Monday Okpebholo and Honourable Dennis Idahosa and promised to make the party win in Edo State. The statement added that both candidates are respected members of the National Assembly who have proven themselves in service.
It was received by the Leader of the House, Prof. Julius Ihonvbere at a ceremony that had in attendance the Clerk of the House of Representatives, Yahaya Danzaria, Edo State Billy Osawaru and Chief of Staff to the Speaker, Prof. Jake Dan-Azumi.
