To promote clean energy and reduce petrol consumption, the Federal Government has launched a new website where vehicle owners can convert their petrol cars to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and pay in installments.
This is to make CNG conversion more affordable and accessible to Nigerians.
The National Orientation Agency (NOA) announced this on X (formerly Twitter) handle, calling it a game-changer in vehicle fuel conversion.
CNG Now Easier with Installments
According to NOA, you can now convert your vehicle to CNG without upfront payment.
The website has flexible payment plans to fit your budget so you can switch from petrol to CNG smoothly.
“Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) is now more accessible than ever,” NOA’s statement read. “With monthly instalments and competitive rates, you can convert now and pay later.”
It adds that the process is seamless for beneficiaries, with an online application and quick approval.
“We will support you every step of the way to make it a stress-free experience,” the agency added.

CNG Benefits
NOA also listed the benefits of using CNG over petrol:
“Cost Savings: CNG is cheaper, saves you long term on fuel costs.

Youth Empowerment through CNG Tricycles
Besides vehicle conversion, the government has also launched a portal for youths to access CNG tricycles, so CNG can reach more Nigerians.
NOA stated that this move is part of the Presidential CNG Initiative (P-CNGi) to improve the economic well-being of Nigerians by providing affordable transportation that is petrol-less.
Michael Oluwagbemi, P-CNGi Project Director and CEO said the initiative will reduce Nigeria’s petrol consumption and benefit individuals and communities.
