The Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has called on his supporters to disregard the baseless rumors making the rounds on social media concerning his educational qualifications.
Aiyedatiwa allayed fears about his academic background, calling on them not to be influenced by online gossip.
This happened during a meeting between him and 130 traditional rulers who had already pledged their support for him ahead of All Progressives Congress (APC) primary elections. He went through all the stages of education from primary up to university level thereby disputing any false claims regarding his school records.
Using this forum, he begged the traditional rulers and party followership not to listen to over ambitious politicians that are saying things on social media that he has fake certificate.
Accordingly, he enjoined his loyalists as well as party members to remain faithful to his government while working towards securing nomination ticket of APC for governorship election scheduled for April 20th, 2024 and winning the gubernatorial election slated for November 16th.
Oba Samuel Adeoye, the Molokun of Atijere Kingdom and Chairmen of 130 kings in Ondo State has declared their support for the governor in the forthcoming primary and general elections.
Various requests were made by the traditional leaders during the assembly which among them included: 5% share from local government allocations for the traditional rulers; provision of vehicles to aid their movements; regular updates for Obas; medical assistance for ailing rulers; and control of their own staffs on disciplinary matters.
Governor Aiyedatiwa responded, appreciating all questions raised and disclosed that there was an ongoing deliberation about giving traditional obas 5% LGA’s allocation within one week.
He also indicated his readiness to supply motor vehicles to the traditional leaders in batches while granting them permission to independently manage their subordinate staff members.
