Manchester United have got a deal agreed with Paris Saint-Germain for Manuel Ugarte.
United have been talking to PSG for over a month about the Uruguayan midfielder but the transfer fee was the problem.
But, according to Sky Sports, PSG have accepted United’s offer which is €50m initial + €10m in bonuses.
Ugarte has agreed personal terms and will travel to England for a medical before joining the club.
United have already signed four players this summer. They started by bringing in striker Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna then Leny Yoro from Lille who they beat Real Madrid to.
Just before the start of the 2024/25 season Bayern Munich’s Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui joined the club and now Ugarte will be the fourth to join the squad.
The 23 year old midfielder joined PSG from Sporting CP last summer and made 37 appearances across all competitions in his debut season with the Parisians. But he became surplus to requirements for the upcoming season especially after PSG signed Joao Neves from Benfica and so they allowed Ugarte to look elsewhere.
Ugarte’s arrival could mean the end of Scott McTominay’s time at the club. Napoli have had a €30m (£25.4m) offer accepted and personal terms will be negotiated.
If Ugarte signs and gets international clearance in time he could make his debut on Sunday against Liverpool. That will be the first time Erik ten Hag and Arne Slot will face each other outside of the Netherlands.
