Operatives of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport have arrested 38 years old Okafor Anthony for drug trafficking. He was about to board Qatar Airlines flight to Iran via Doha when he was caught with 76 wraps of cocaine in his stomach.
NDLEA’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi confirmed the arrest, he said it was on Sunday. Babafemi said “After three days of observation, Okafor excreted 76 pellets of cocaine weighing 1.267kg.”
In another operation in Kogi State, NDLEA officers on patrol on Okene-Lokoja-Abuja expressway on Tuesday, September 17 seized 700,000 exol-5 pills being brought from Lagos to Kano and Kaduna. Meanwhile, 23 years old Udemefuna Chibuike was arrested on Friday, September 20 along Mokwa-Jebba road in Niger State. He was found with 49,000 tramadol tablets, 20,000 diazepam tablets, 100 ampoules of tramadol injection and 50 bottles of codeine-laced cough syrup.
Also, NDLEA officers seized 451 blocks of cannabis weighing 213kg along Azikiwe Road in Port Harcourt, Rivers State on Wednesday, September 18. 33 years old Ogochukwu Paul was arrested while taking the drugs to a known drug joint in Borikiri.
