Controversial singer Portable has called out Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) over his 2025 prophecies. He called them lies and fear-mongering.
At the RCCG Crossover Service at the Redemption Camp in Shimawa, Ogun State, Pastor Adeboye spoke about several prophecies for 2025. He said the year would be unforgettable for Nigerians because of the challenges and events.
He said:
> “2025 will be a year nobody will ever forget. The wind that started blowing last year will blow stronger this year.
> “Earthly helpers will be replaced by heavenly helpers. Mockers will get louder and more aggressive but many of them will not survive the year.
> “God wants repentance not death but some have made up their mind not to change. Some towns and villages will shout victory at last.”
The prophecies as spoken by Pastor Adeboye was a mix of hope and warning, urging people to repent and get spiritually aligned.
Portable replied, the prophecies are meaningless and fear-mongering. He said Pastor Adeboye’s statement is designed to create panic not faith in Nigerians.
The singer boldly said the negative prophecies won’t apply to him or his family. Portable said such should uplift and encourage people not spread fear of doom.
Portable’s bold talk has got mixed reactions on social media. While some are commending him for speaking truth to power, others are saying he’s disrespecting a spiritual leader.
This is a clear case of the ongoing battle between religious institutions and public figures, on prophecy and faith in Nigeria.
2025 will come and the debate will continue. Whether you see it as divine or personal opinion, the prophecies has sparked conversation.
