According to the Content Creators, Skit Producers, and Influencers Association of Nigeria (PCCSIGN), there has been an unresolved issue with one of its partners, Ijeoma Josephina Otabor, alias Phyna, who won the seventh edition of Big Brother Naija in 2022.
As such the PCCSIGN has written a formal letter to the organisers of the Big Brother Naija reality TV series-Multichoice Nigeria.
The correspondence was approved by Michael Obinna Nwabufor, Acting National President and distributed on their Instagram page on Monday showing that even after two years Phyna is yet to get some of her prize money from the show.
The letter partly reads: “We wish to contact you about outstanding financial obligations to Ijeoma Josephina Otabor also called ‘Phyna,’ a prominent member. He is owed $70,052.00 worth 1BTC by Quidax Global, One year’s supply of Pepsi products by Seven-Up Bottling Company (Pepsi),
“A holiday for two people traveling via Travelbeta.com to Dubai and A year’s supply of soap products from Evans Industries (Unik Soap). These are just some among many others like them that she got being the winner for Big Brother Naija Season 7 (Level Up) held between July 23rd and October 2nd 2022.”
The guild requested Multichoice to ensure that Phyna gets his gifts from the firms in question. The guild is urging Big Brother Naija show’s sponsors to honor their promises to winners of the competition.
Moreover, the letter states: “Failure to deliver the promised rewards not only smears the names of those sponsoring it but also puts into question the credibility of the show and breeds mistrust among Nigerians.”
