Nigerian singer Speed Darlington aka Akpi has finally broken his silence after his release from prison where he was locked up for 2 months.
Akpi’s troubles started after he made some controversial statements about Burna Boy, linking him to American music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs. The comments sparked a lot of online discussions and he was arrested for defamation.
Few days ago, an Abuja court granted him bail and put an end to weeks of detention that had generated a lot of buzz. His release came after much pressure was mounted on the Nigeria Police Force to arraign him in court after he was detained for too long. His lawyer Okoye had earlier written to Deputy Inspector-General of Police Dasuki Galadanchi to enforce a court order on the matter.
After his release, Speed Darlington dropped a subtle message to his fans on social media. He posted a picture of two rams fighting and captioned it “I’m back”
The post has generated reactions from his fans with many wondering what’s next for him musically and in his beef with Burna Boy. This is the world where music, controversy and court cases collide.
