Dora Chichah, the lady now married to Rev. Fr. Daniel Okanatotor Oghenerukevwe recently shared how they met and got married.
Daniel, a former Catholic priest with Diocese of Warri, Delta State was suspended after his marriage in the United States was exposed before he was officially released from priestly vows.
According to reports, Daniel requested to be relieved of his priestly duties in November 2024. But before the necessary documents could be processed, news of his marriage emerged.
FreshNews.NG learnt that the Diocese got to know after photos of the wedding in Dallas, Texas went viral.
The news sparked outrage among Catholics and beyond.
At Pastor Jerry Eze’s Streams of Joy International Church in Dallas, Dora shared her testimony and said; “I am a single mother of three and I have been seeking God’s direction for almost a decade. I have been praying since 2020, I held on to God, crying out for divine settlement as a single mother. I believed in His timing and He came through for me.”
In July 2021, Dora said she attended a service where Pastor Jerry Eze prophesied; “God has allowed everything to happen to prepare you for a greater blessing” and Dora was encouraged by those words and continued to pray and trust God for her life.
By 2024, Dora felt a strong pull to move to Dallas, Texas.
When she got to Dallas, she reconnected with Daniel, a childhood friend from her hometown.
Their meeting felt like a divine setup as they discovered they had similar spiritual journeys and understanding of God’s direction for their lives.
She further disclosed how Daniel told her, he had been praying and fasting for years for direction. Their shared faith brought them closer and in just three months they got married, had a traditional wedding, court wedding and church blessing at Streams of Joy, Dallas.
Dora described it as a clear demonstration of God’s answers to prayers.
Dora’s testimony didn’t mention Daniel being a priest but the couple’s story went viral and people started talking.
In response to the backlash, a woman who identified herself as Daniel’s sister, Mary Okanatotor said Daniel had informed the Diocese of his intention and that his marriage was a step forward.
This has sparked conversations on faith, prayer and taking bold steps. It’s a reminder that faith, persistence and courage can lead to life changing results despite societal pressure and obstacles.
