Tigran Gambaryan’s mother Knarik Gambaryan says her son is innocent of the charges against him in Nigeria, according to the Punch.
In a statement on Friday, Knarik said her son is not involved.
She wants the Nigerian government to bring her son home and even offered to swap places with him to get him free.
“He’s innocent, that’s it. Please bring my son home. That’s all we ask for.”
“Take me, swap me for my son; just let him go home! I don’t care what happens to me, just let him be free!” Knarik Gambaryan said.
Tigran Gambaryan, a US citizen and Binance’s Chief of Financial Crimes Compliance, was arrested in February 2024 along with fellow executive Nadeem Anjarwalla when they arrived in Nigeria.
Their arrest was linked to an investigation into Binance and money laundering and terrorism financing. Anjarwalla managed to escape to Kenya and has not been extradited yet.
He’s on trial with his company on money laundering charges and is in Kuje Correctional Centre.
His family and employer are worried about him.
But the Nigerian Correctional Service said after medical checkup, he’s okay.
