According to Tonto, the move allows her to prioritize herself and her child.
She said this in an Instagram post while responding to a single mum who asked for advice on how to cope with raising a child after divorce.
The single mum who identified herself as “a nobody aiming to be somebody soon” shared her feelings of being inadequate and asked Dikeh how she managed when her marriage ended.
She replied; leaving the marriage was my decision, for myself and my child, it was the best decision I ever made.
She told the woman to work on herself and personal growth, to prioritize herself and her child, and to seek God’s guidance.
Tonto Dikeh’s post read: *Good morning. First and foremost I was the one that decided to leave my marriage. I needed to get out of a bad situation not just for me but for my child too. It was the best decision I ever made.
“Remember you have the power to be the person you want to be if you work on personal growth and invest in yourself. Prioritize your children’s well being and seek strength and guidance from God. Sometimes the end of one journey is the beginning of your blessings. But if your marriage is worth saving fight for it. Take care.”
She added: “To all single mothers, there’s no manual for this. I’m not an expert. My greatest teacher has been LOVE. I let God handle things and that has always been enough for me. Draw your strength from Him and above all keep your family matters private.”
