Bayo Onanuga, the president’s special adviser on information and strategy has justified President Bola Tinubu’s recent travels.
October 2, the presidency announced that Tinubu had left Abuja for the United Kingdom to begin a two weeks vacation as part of his annual leave.
Earlier, August 29, Tinubu left Abuja for China, with a stopover in Dubai, before arriving Beijing on September 1 for a state visit and FOCAC.
After that, the president returned to Abuja on September 16 after a two weeks trip to China, Dubai and UK.
Recently, Kabir Masari, senior special assistant on political matters, said he met with Tinubu at the president’s private residence in UK. After the meeting, the President went to France and Nigerians were divided on the frequency of his trips.
In response to the concerns, Onanuga tweeted on Friday night that Tinubu is on two weeks personal leave and can travel anywhere during this period. “President Tinubu is on leave for two weeks. He is not restricted to UK. It is his private time. He can go wherever he wishes. He is still on leave,” Onanuga wrote on X.
