A storm has descended on Nigerian activist and social critic VeryDarkMan after claims he secretly met a woman he earlier accused media personality Nedu of sleeping with.
The allegations by X user RadioGad has got people talking, with questions of credibility and intent.
According to RadioGad’s post, VeryDarkMan was seen at an Abuja hotel with the same woman, Jojooflele, he had earlier linked to Nedu during a podcast feud.
RadioGad claims to have “solid evidence” of the encounter including testimonies from hotel staff.
RadioGad also alleged that VeryDarkMan took the woman to a restaurant, cinema and a Mercedes-Benz car ride before the hotel visit.
The controversy started when VeryDarkMan accused Nedu of infidelity, claiming Nedu admitted to sleeping with Jojooflele in a video.
RadioGad now alleges hypocrisy, “VDM took Jojooflele to a hotel room… If she gets pregnant tomorrow, we know who is responsible”.
The post also accused VeryDarkMan of fabricating claims against Nedu because of a personal issue.
Public reactions are divided. Some are asking for transparency, demanding VeryDarkMan to address the allegations. Others are saying it’s baseless, that there’s no proof.
As of publication, VeryDarkMan and Nedu have not responded to the allegations.
Social media analysts say the incident is a case of the broader issue of accountability among online influencers.
A 2023 report by Premium Times said how unverified claims on X often snowball into “cancel culture” battles where reputations are damaged before facts are established.
While RadioGad’s evidence is unverified, the saga has shown how the lines are blurred between personal vendettas and public discourse in Nigeria’s digital space.
