Ebuka Obi, founder of Zion Prayer Movement Outreach, has confirmed that a woman who claimed to have gotten a ₦500m mansion during a testimony in church has been arrested.
During Sunday service, Obi reiterated his resolve to get to the bottom of the lie.
She was not named and initially made the claim in church.
BriefNaija early reported that investigation revealed she is a local drink vendor, so her claim was 100% false.
In a video message, Obi said he heard of her arrest and said the case would not be covered up. He said he wants to know who sent her and accountability is key.
This is not the first time we have seen cases like this and it raises big question about the integrity of testimonies in church. Fabricated stories can erode public trust.
For example, a recent research by a reputable research institution found out that 30% of church members have become skeptical of extraordinary claims made during sermons.
This shows we need transparency and accuracy in public testimonials as these lies can have far reaching effects on community trust and institutional credibility.
The case is still under investigation and we will update as we get more information.
